Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 Unveiled At Mondial de l’Automobile Officie

Presented at Mondial de l’Automobile 2014 by Stephan Winkelmann, CEO and President of Automobili Lamborghini, the Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 is the first Lamborghini plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology demonstrator of what Lamborghini could achieve using hybrid technology. Thanks to the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology, the Asterion could achieve an impressive figure of CO2 emissions of 98 g/km on the combine cycle and offer up to 50 km of pure electric range. The Asterion is designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile and features the bold lines and design language found on the current line of Lamborghini models. The new glittery Blue Elektra finish further highlight the innovative exterior design. The interior is also very similar to the current line of Lamborghini models but the seats are positioned higher to increase comfort and usability. Lamborghini had also incorporated the usage of exotic materials such as aluminium, forged carbon fiber, titanium and a two tone leather combination of Bianco Calaeno (ivory) and Marrone Attis (brown) into the interior to give it a minimalist yet modern look. The Asterion is the powered by a Lamborghini V10 with selective IDS (Iniezione Diretta Stratificata) combined with 3 electric motorslifted to provide a total output of 910bhp. Power is sent to all four wheels via a Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (LDF) 7-speeds dual clutch gearbox which could launch the Asterion from 0-100km/h in 3.0s and onto a top speed of 320km/h. Carbo-ceramic brakes are standard to provide stopping power for the raging bull. Stephan Winkelmann further commented that he is not a fan of hybrid technology and natural aspirated engines remain his favorite choice. Therefore, it is likely that the Asterion will remain as a concept for the time being and Lamborghini will not be producing a car with hybrid technology in the near future.

Aaron Kwok’s One-off Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario Roadster In Matt Verde Aaron

Aaron Kwok is a famous Hong Kong based actor, dancer and singer but he is best known as a car enthusiast. His amazing collection of exotic supercars includes a Pagani Zonda F, an Audi R8 GT Spyder, a Lamborghini Reventon Roadster, numerous Ferraris, and a few Porsches. He is also an active racer in the Audi R8 LMS Cup Series and had participated in races around famous racetrack in the world. Recently, Aaron Kwok had added a brand new one-off Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario Roadster in Matt Verde Aaron into his collection. Matt Verde Aaron is a unique shade of grey-ish matte green specially commisioned by the Hong Kong superstar and is a one-off colour for his new Lamborghini. In addition to the unique paintjob, Aaron Kwok’s Matt Verde Aaron Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario Roadster also features a grey interior. Limited to just 100 coupes and roadster worldwide, the Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario features improved aero and an additional 20bhp from the 6.5 V12, making it one of the fastest Lamborghinis in existence.

Lamborghinis Crossing A River In Thailand

Exotic supercars and water do not normally go together but in a recent Lamborghini Club Thailand trip, a pack of raging bulls were forced to get themselves wet when crossing a canal river. The group consisting of a Murcielago SV, a pair of Aventadors and a few Gallardos were seen driving across a canal river in a rural part of the Kingdom of Thailand. Despite being quite shallow, the canal river itself appears to be quite broad but the bulls with their all-wheel-drive system are coping well in the water.

Lamborghini Asterion Pictures Leaked

Lamborghini’s teaser last week got the world wondering what would the Italian manufacturer bring to the Paris 2014 Mondial de l’Automobile. Numerous renderings had surfaced since the teaser was released but lately, pictures of the upcoming Lamborghini concept car had been found leaked in a magazine. Despite the poor quality of the pictures, the car in the picture shows distinctive Lamborghini design language. There are rumours suggesting that Lamborghini may name this concept car the Asterion, the Greek mythology name for hybrid between man and bull as Lamborghini recently applied to trademark the name on September 15 featuring a lightning bolt through the ‘o’ in the Asterion word. It was also speculated that Lamborghini will unveil the Asterion at the upcoming Paris 2014 Mondial de l’Automobile alongside a second new car which will be positioned above the Aventador.

Lamborghini Releases New Teaser For Paris 2014 Mondial de l’Automobile

Lamborghini had released a new teaser for the upcoming Paris 2014 Mondial de l’Automobile with the caption ‘Once perfection is achieved, you can just double it’. The caption strongly suggests that Lamborghini could be bring a new four door concept or model to be shown at the Mondial de l’Automobile. A side cooling vent visible in the teaser photo also suggests that the engine in the new model may be placed in the middle or the rear. Stay with us for more updates soon.

Lamborghini Aventador Sets Itself On Fire

The Lamborghini Aventador is a furious V12 monster well known for spitting fire from its rear. While shooting huge flames from the hot exhaust may look great on camera, the car catching fire does not, as demonstrated by this black Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. The driver of this black Aventador was revving his car to put on a show at an Asian wedding when the huge flames from the Aventador’s exhaust set the rear bumper on fire. It was unclear that the flames continued to burn on the bumper due to cleaning product residues left on the bumper or due to poor quality car wraps.

Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 Hong Kong Launch At The Lamborghini Pop-Up Museum

The new Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 was recently launched in Hong Kong at the Lamborghini Pop-up Museum. Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini was present at the event to host the official launch the Huracán LP610-4 himself. The event was also attended by representatives from Kingsway Cars Ltd., the official importer of Lamborghini in Hong Kong and representatives the media. The new Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 will remain on display at the Lamborghini Pop-up Museum will remain up until the end of September 2014.

First Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 Crash In Hungary

A brand new Czech Republic registered Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4 in Verde Ithaca was crashed in Hungary. This is the first known crash involving a Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4. The green Lamborghini was reported to be traveling down the M7 highway in Hungary when it crashed through a barrier into a ditch and caught fire. Despite the terrible accident, both occupants of the vehicle survived with injuries. The car however, suffers a different fate.

DMC Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario Roadster

The Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario Roadster may be a more exclusive and aggressive version of the Aventador LP700-4, but it certainly did not stop German tuner DMC Tuning from adding their personal touch to the car to make it into a more complete package. The DMC Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario Roadster was fitted with DMC’s ‘Molto Veloce’ rear wing and side skirts to match the Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario front and rear bumpers. A set of forged wheels in black were also fitted to the DMC Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario Roadster to complete its new aggressive looks. DMC showcased the DMC Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario Roadster at a ‘By Invitation only’ Luxury Car Show in Beijing recently where the car was towed on a trailer into the arena full of luxury cars from other marques such as Pagani, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, etc. Among the vast fleet of white, silver and black luxury vehicle on display, the DMC Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario Roadster towed by a a yellow Hummer H1 certainly stands out on its own.
